The Monastery of Santo André de Rendufe, located in a valley, in a rural area, isolated by its old fence, was built in the 16th century. XII, in the parish of Rendufe.

The male Benedictine monastery, where the gilded carving in the national baroque style stands out, is classified as a Property of Public Interest. Part of the monastery (monastic outbuildings and farm) belongs to private individuals, with significant production of vinho verde.

Being one of the most beautiful jewels of baroque architecture in the Municipality of Amares, the Monastery of Santo André de Rendufe provides, however, a journey through the various architectural styles, where we can find the energy and movement of the baroque, on the one hand, and the sobriety of the neoclassical, on the other.
