The Ponte do Porto, over the River Cávado, located in Prozelo (Union of Parishes of Ferreiros, Prozelo and Besteiros) is classified as a National Monument (MN, Dec. 16-06-1910, DG 136 of 23 June 1910).
This bridge, with its simple architecture and simple beauty, holds stories from other times, featuring a long, narrow deck with a flat profile. Probably built in the 16th century, the four arches under the horizontal section of the deck are broken and the upper part of the three piers that separate them have eyelets.
Currently, the Ponte do Porto, which connects the municipality of Amares and the municipality of Póvoa de Lanhoso, has no traffic, which allows you to appreciate one of the most beautiful scenes in the Municipality of Amares.
