Thermal area comprising changing room, two fountains, physical medicine and rehabilitation center and shower room. Built in the 19th century, in the parish of Caldelas (Union of parishes of Caldelas, Sequeiros and Paranhos), it has revivalist hospital architecture. In the parish, next to the Thermal Baths, there is the Parque das Termas de Caldelas, a contemporary public park built in the 20th century, whose landscape architecture project dates back to 1962 and was designed by Francisco Caldeira Cabral.
Currently, the entire space of Vila Termal has been refurbished, providing, in addition to therapeutic indications for the digestive system and musculoskeletal system, programs aimed at anti-stress, weight loss, rejuvenation or energy recovery.
The history of the Caldelas Thermal Baths dates back to prehistoric times, as traces of a castreja village were found on the hill of S. Sebastião. Later, traces of Roman presence were found, which seem to indicate the existence of a Roman thermal establishment.
